LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its 2025 Midwest All-Region Team on Friday, with Parkside's Peter Fusek earning First Team honors as an outfielder.
The awards recognize the top baseball student-athletes across eight regions, with first and second-team selections determined by votes from NCBWA-member head coaches in each region. All honorees are now eligible for the 2025 NCBWA Division II All-America Team.
After earning Second Team All-GLIAC honors a year ago, Fusek elevated his game in 2025. While he contributed on the mound with a 3.60 ERA over 20 innings, it was his offensive production that truly shined. Fusek led the GLIAC with a .426 batting average, finished second with 80 hits, and was a consistent extra-base threat with 18 doubles, three triples, and three home runs.
He also topped the GLIAC in stolen bases for the second straight season, swiping an impressive 35 bags. Fusek tallied 25 multi-hit games, including 10 contests with three or more hits, cementing his status as one of the most dangerous hitters in the region.
