4/30/2025 7:05:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside will travel out east to Detroit for the final weekend of the regular season. The Rangers are slated to take on Wayne State for the first time this season in a four-game set. Parkside and Wayne State are deadlocked for third place in the GLIAC, building the narrative for an excellent regular season finish.

Scouting Parkside

  • The Rangers secured their 28th victory of the season on Sunday, notching their highest win total in a single season since 2005.

  • They handed Saginaw Valley State back-to-back losses, holding them scoreless for the final 19 innings of the weekend.

  • Parkside earned GLIAC win number 10, tying their single-season record which was set last season.

  • Noah Gerritson and Keegan Waters both stood out for Parkside, combining for 13.1 scoreless innings last weekend.

  • Carter Storti delivered a pair of six-out saves last weekend, his third and fourth of the season, which is tied for third most in the GLIAC.

  • Owen Brock (.444) and Peter Fusek (.436) both rank in the top in the GLIAC in batting average heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

  • Dylan Sayles (.356) and Josh Wicker (.351) also rank in the top 10.

Scouting Wayne State

  • Both the Warriors and Rangers are 10-10 in conference play and tied in the conference standings. Saginaw Valley State is on their tails, sitting one game back.

  • Saginaw Valley State will play four games against last-place Purdue Northwest this weekend.

  • After taking a game from top-ranked Davenport last weekend, the Warriors handed Purdue Northwest a 14-4 loss on Tuesday, entering the weekend on the right track.

  • They are 22-24 overall and have played just nine games at home all season, owning a 5-4 record in Detroit.

  • Wayne State's offense ranks sixth in the conference with a team average of .284. However, the team has showcased their ability to hit the ball out of the yard, with a third-best 34 long balls.

  • Mason McGuire is the catalyst offensively, with a .357 average that ranks eighth in the GLIAC.

  • On the mound, they are smack in the middle of the conference with a 5.80 ERA. Their staff has issued more walks (230) than any other team in the GLIAC.

Wayne State has historically dominated Parkside, leading the all-time series 22-2. However, the Rangers snapped a five-year losing streak last season, walking the Warriors off on April 12, 2024. After conquering Saginaw Valley State last weekend, Parkside will look for a similar result in their biggest games of the season so far.
