Parkside Falls in Final Two Games at the Rosemont Dome

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Parkside softball program wrapped up the 2025 Lewis Dome Invitational on Sunday. The Rangers played two games, opening the day against William Jewell and closing out in a game against Lewis. The Rangers would fall to both teams, losing to William Jewell 8-3 and to Lewis 4-2.

Game One – William Jewell
William Jewell came out strong, scoring five runs in the first two innings, highlighted by a grand slam from Emma Jane Ogle in the second. The Cardinals added single runs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings to maintain control of the game.

Parkside managed to get on the board in the fifth when Toni Rodriguez delivered a two-run single to cut the deficit to 6-2. The Rangers added another run in the seventh on an RBI single from Eden Welling, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback.

Game Two – Lewis
Parkside wasted no time getting on the board, as Toni Rodriguez launched a two-run homer in the top of the first inning, bringing in Mia Johnson to give the Rangers an early 2-0 lead.

Lewis responded in the bottom of the second, plating three runs on a series of timely hits. Lewis delivered a two-run single to center field, and tacked on another run later in the inning with another single to move the score to 3-2.

The Rangers were held in check offensively for the remainder of the game, managing just one additional hit after the first inning. Lewis tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth when the Flyers drove in a run with a double, pushing the lead to 4-2.
