Parkside Opens GLIAC Tournament at Home Against Davenport

11/7/2025 9:00:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. — Parkside men's soccer opens postseason play at home on Sunday, Nov. 9, hosting Davenport in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals at noon at Wood Road Field. The fourth-seeded Rangers finished the regular season 5-5-5 overall and 5-3-4 in GLIAC play, while the fifth-seeded Panthers closed at 4-7-5 overall and 3-5-4 in the league.

This matchup mirrors last year's quarterfinal, but with the seeds reversed. In 2024, Davenport hosted and defeated Parkside 2-0 to end the Rangers' season. Since joining the GLIAC in 2018, Parkside has qualified for the conference tournament every year. Last season marked the first time the Rangers failed to advance past the quarterfinals. Parkside last won the GLIAC Tournament in fall 2021, the same season they earned an NCAA berth and went on to make the Sweet 16 in 2022.

Davenport at Parkside

The Rangers enter the postseason after an 0-1-1 final weekend, falling 2-0 to Purdue Northwest before battling No. 2 seed Roosevelt to a 0-0 draw on Senior Day. Parkside has gone scoreless in its last 180 minutes and is 1-2-3 over its last six matches. Offensively, Eduardo Aguilera-Guillen leads the Rangers with seven goals and 17 points, ranking tied for third in the GLIAC in goals and third in total points. In goal, Daniyal Rana leads the conference with 95 saves (6.33 per game) and ranks second in save percentage at .812. He and fellow keeper Kyle Peek combined for Parkside's fourth clean sheet of the year in Sunday's regular-season finale.

SCOUTING DAVENPORT:
The Panthers have reached the NCAA Tournament twice in the last four seasons and continue to be one of the GLIAC's most consistent defensive teams. Goalkeeper Beau Hudd anchors a back line that has allowed just 1.16 goals per match, while ranking third in the league in saves per game (4.47). Offensively, Davenport has managed only 15 goals across 17 matches, the fewest in the GLIAC, but relies on standout forward Charlie Davis to drive production. Davis leads the team with five goals — including two game-winners — and five assists, leading the entire conference in helpers. His 15 points rank sixth in the GLIAC. Ryan Sheffer has added four goals, while Maxamillian Postlewait has chipped in three goals and one assist. The Panthers average 13.8 shots per match with a .480 shots-on-goal rate and are among the league leaders in corner kicks with 91. Davenport ended the regular season with a 2-0 loss to Saginaw Valley State before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over St. Cloud State.

Sunday marks the third meeting this season between the two programs — and the fifth in the past 13 months. The teams played to a pair of draws this fall: a 2-2 tie in Kenosha on Oct. 10, where Aguilera-Guillen converted a late penalty kick with 45 seconds left in regulation, and a 1-1 result in Caledonia on Oct. 19 behind a second-half goal from Nicolas De Andres. All-time, Parkside leads the series 8-7-4, though Davenport holds a narrow 3-1 edge in GLIAC Tournament meetings. The Rangers' lone postseason win over the Panthers came in 2021, a 1-0 victory in the GLIAC Championship that sent Parkside to the NCAA Tournament. Parkside is 2-3-3 against Davenport in Kenosha and has not lost to the Panthers since Oct. 1, 2023, or at home since Oct. 16, 2022.
