KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's soccer team opens Sunday's doubleheader at Wood Road Field, hosting Purdue Northwest for an 11 a.m. kickoff on Oct. 12. SCOUTING PURDUE NORTHWEST:

Purdue Northwest (4-3-2, 2-3-0 GLIAC) comes into the weekend sixth in the GLIAC standings after splitting a pair of matches last week. The Pride earned a 1-0 shutout over Davenport before falling 2-0 to No. 3 Grand Valley State. Purdue Northwest has been led by forward Mia Davis, who is tied for the GLIAC lead with five goals, owns two game-winners, and ranks fourth in total points with 10. Goalkeeper Poppy Jackson has anchored the Pride defense, posting a goals-against average under 1.00 along with four solo shutouts.

Parkside and Purdue Northwest are familiar foes, meeting for the second time this season. The Rangers are 9-2-2 all time against the Pride, including a 4-0-2 mark at Wood Road Field, and have won six of the last eight match ups. The two teams last met on Sept. 28 in Hammond, where Parkside earned a 2-1 victory. Ava Rizzitano opened the scoring in the 26th minute on assists from Mikkelson and Emily Slye, and after the Pride equalized on a penalty kick just before halftime, Dahlinger netted the game-winner in the 85th minute off a cross from Kayden Schmidt. Parkside outshot the Pride 14-6 and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks, with goalkeeper Tristen Cross recording four saves in the win.
