GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – The Parkside women's cross country team wrapped up the 2025 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Saturday at Calvin University Cross Country Course. Facing several nationally ranked programs, the meet offered a good look at the upcoming 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and National Championships.
Parkside placed 6th as a team in the women's 6k championship race with 141 points. #2 Grand
Valley St. (15) took home the team title, followed by #15 Northern Michigan (80) and Saginaw
Valley (103).
Sophomore standout
Johanna Ebert led the way for Parkside, finishing as the team's top runner with a strong effort of 21:01.9, placing 7th overall and earning First Team All-GLIAC honors. Right behind Ebert was another sophomore standout in
Abbi Steiner, who also delivered a strong race, finishing with a time of 21:02.8 for 8th overall and secured First Team All-GLIAC recognition. Rangers' scoring pack was rounded out by
Madison Perez (22:39.4, 42nd),
Alyson Moore (22:45.7, 50th), and
Josie Kooima (22:52.6, 55th).
The Rangers now turn their attention to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships, which will be hosted by Parkside on their home course at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on November 8th at 10:00 am CT. The meet will bring together the top programs from across the Midwest Region as the Rangers look to build on their success in front of the home crowd.
