KENOSHA, Wis. — Parkside men's soccer team heads to St. Cloud, Minn., on Friday, Oct. 3, to take on St. Cloud State at Husky Stadium, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT. The Rangers will look to build momentum after a split weekend in GLIAC play, falling 4-3 in a heartbreaker at Roosevelt on Friday before bouncing back with a 1-0 win at Purdue Northwest on Sunday, thanks to freshman Angel Luevano's first collegiate goal in the 89th minute.
Parkside enters the week third in the GLIAC standings at 2-1-0, earning six of a possible nine points through three matches. They are one of only three teams in the league with a winning conference record to open the season. Senior forward Eduardo Aguilera-Guillen has led the charge offensively, pacing the GLIAC in both goals (5) and points (11). He has netted three times in league play, including braces against Lewis and Roosevelt. In goal, Daniyal Rana leads the conference with 7.0 saves per match, posting at least five saves in every start and recording his first shutout of the season on Sunday as Parkside defended 13 corners and withstood 18 shots from Purdue Northwest.

SCOUTING ST. CLOUD STATE:
St. Cloud State enters at 3-3-1 overall and 1-1-0 in GLIAC play, having split its weekend by edging Davenport 1-0 on Friday before falling 3-0 to league favorite Saginaw Valley on Sunday. The Huskies were picked sixth in the GLIAC preseason poll after finishing third in the league last year with a 9-8-1 record. Key returners include midfielder Andrew Holmes, defender Owen Worsdell, center back Yannick Langerhuizen, and senior goalkeeper Ramy Atia under sixth-year head coach Sean Holmes.
Offensively, SCSU is tied for second in the conference with 11 goals through seven matches. Andrés García leads the attack with four goals, including two game-winners, while Diego Ramos has contributed one goal and two assists. Worsdell has paced defensive scoring with 11 shots (eight on target), and Holmes has added a goal and an assist. In goal, Atia has made 24 saves with a 2.30 goals-against average and one shutout, while freshman keeper JJ Dufner has been solid in limited action with a 0.75 GAA. St. Cloud State averages over 10 shots per game and will aim to strike early against a Parkside defense that's kept pace so far in league play.
Both teams bring offensive firepower into Friday's matchup, with Parkside leading the GLIAC in goals per game during conference play (3.0) and St. Cloud State consistently testing opponents with volume attacking. The Rangers will look to stay near the top of the conference standings, while the Huskies aim to protect home field as part of a four-match homestand.
Historically, Parkside holds a 4-2-2 advantage in the all-time series with St. Cloud State through the 2024 matchup. On the road, the Rangers are 1-2-1. Their most recent meeting came on Nov. 1 of last year in Kenosha, ending in a 2-2 draw.
