Parkside Men's Soccer to Host Quincy and Lewis to Open 2024 Season

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside men's soccer program is set to open their 2024 campaign this week. The Rangers are coming off a GLIAC regular season championship season and their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Jason Zitzke, in his 14th season, and company open the season at Wood Road Field on Thursday as they host Quincy University. The Rangers will then close out the week on Sunday afternoon as they host Lewis University.

SCOUTING QUINCY
Thursday's match also serves as the Hawks season opener. Quincy finished 2023 with a record of 5-10-2. The Hawks and the Rangers faced off last year in both team's 2023 home opener where the Rangers won after a five-goal performance, 5-3.
The Hawks return Rennato Ramos who led the team in points in the year previous with 12. Ramos notched three goals and distributed out a team high six assists.
 
SCOUTING LEWIS
The Flyers enter 2024 after a historic 2023 season. The Flyers had an impressive NCAA Tournament run, reaching the final match before falling to the Division II National Champions Franklin Peirce, finishing the season with a 13-4-6 record. The Rangers did notably pick up a win over the Flyers, 2-1. Lewis kicks of the 2024 season with a national preseason ranking of No. 4 in Division II.
The Flyers return goalkeeper Sebastian Doppelhoffer for his senior season. A three time All-GLVC honoree, Doppelhoffer is a key returner for Lewis. He finished 2023 with 11 shutouts and 13 wins in net.
