Rangers Return Home for Twin Bill

3/6/2024 10:37:00 AM

Kenosha, Wis. - The Parkside Rangers will open an eight-game home stand beginning on Thursday. They are slated to take on another Wisconsin foe at Augie Schmidt Field on the campus of Carthage College. Parkside will host Wisconsin-Eau Claire beginning at 1:00 pm.

Scouting Parkside
Through the Rangers first 11 games of the season, they have played to a 4-7 overall record. So far, they have recorded wins over Rockhurst University, Upper Iowa, and most recently a game over Southwest Baptist last Friday. However, they dropped both series to UIU and SWBU. Offensively, the Rangers have been a powerhouse. They have produced 81 runs through their first 11 games, which is a ridiculous seven-runs per baseball game.

The Rangers have three hitters at least with a .400 clip or higher and as a team they have hit .281. Andrew Harris leads the way with an impressive slash line, .438/.486/.750. Harris has a club-leading three long balls in the process. Peter Fusek has been stellar, combing contact and speed, resulting in an average of .429 with three triples and four stolen bases. In addition, Carter Storti has an even batting average of .400. As a team, they have already hit ten home runs, which is already on pace to out-homer the team from a season-ago.

Scouting Wisconsin-Eau Claire
The Golds of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be opening their season in the games against the Rangers. The Golds come from the Division-III level and play in the WIAC. Last season, the team finished with a 12-27 overall record and 3-21 in WIAC play.

Patrick Reilly will be making his coaching debut with Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Patrick Reilly previously spent 13 seasons at the Division-II level with Winona State University, and will now begin his tenure with the Golds on Thursday.
