SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- The Parkside women's basketball team concluded regular season play on Saturday afternoon at Lake Superior State. The Rangers finished on a high note, defeating the Lakers in a lopsided 83-47 win. With the victory, they secure the No. 5 seed in the GLIAC Conference Tournament. The Rangers finish the season with a 15-11 overall record and a 10-8 record in GLIAC play.

- The Rangers offense played well, shooting at a 46.9% clip. Of the Rangers 30 field goals, they were able to assist 26 of them.
- Parkside had a balanced offensive attack, with three Rangers reaching double figures. Chloe Van Zeeland and Grace Lomen would lead the Rangers with 15 points apiece. Cassidy Arni would supply the Rangers with 14 points as well.
- The Lakers struggled to produce much offense as the Rangers would limit them to shoot just 25.7% on the afternoon and force them into 17 turnovers.
How it Happened
Parkside got off to a hot start, starting off the game on an 11-0 run. The Rangers would also convert their first seven field goals of the game. Van Zeeland would have the hot hand in the quarter as she was responsible for 10 of the Rangers 25 first quarter points. Parkside would lead 25-7 at the conclusion of the opening quarter of play.
The second quarter was much the same for the Rangers, as they would hold LSSU in the single digits for the quarter while putting up 23 points of their own. The Rangers would shoot 46.7% in the second quarter and an impressive 5-10 from three point territory. Parkside would lead heading into the halftime break 48-16.
The Rangers offense would cool down a bit in the third quarter. They would come out of the break shooting just 27.8% from the field. It would lead to the only quarter of play the Rangers were outscored in as the Lakers put up 14 third quarter points the the Rangers 13.
Parkside would recover well in the final quarter of play. They would shoot a quarter high 58.3% from the field in the fourth quarter.
Cassidy Arni would explode in the final period of action, scoring 12 of her 14 points in the final 10 minutes. Her effort would help the Rangers secure the 83-47 win.
