SMYRNA, Tenn. -- The Rangers played in their final two games of the season opening Music City Invitational taking on Tiffin in game one and Quincy in game two. The Rangers would open both games well but would drop both games, losing to Tiffin 5-2 and Quincy 5-3.
Game One
Olivia Fee would get the starting nod in the circle for the Rangers and would throw the first two innings, giving up four earned runs on five hits.
Olivia Masnica came on for the final four innings in relief giving up just four hits.
Toni Rodriguez and
Haley Remington highlighted the offensive production for the Rangers, each recording an RBI.
The Dragons would open the game tacking on two runs in the opening frame and three more in the second. The Rangers would look to chip away at the Dragon lead in the fourth inning when a
Haley Remington sacrifice fly to right field would score
Cassie Rutledge to make the score 5-1.
The Rangers would continue to chip away in the fifth inning as Toni Rodgiuez lined up the middle to score
Rylee Baetz to make the score 5-2 still in favor of the Dragons. The Rangers unfortunately couldn't produce anymore runs and the score would end as such.Â
Game Two
Hope Maes started on the mound for the Rangers in game two. Maes would throw five innings giving up six hits and just three earned runs with five strike outs.
Shelly Deisz came on to toss two innings in relief and allowing just one earned run.
Haley Remington once again led the way for the Rangers offensively, recording the team's only two RBI's of the day. Remington went 1-3 on the day and accounted for a run.
The Rangers would open the game scoring three runs in the first inning. Two came from the bat of Remington on a single up the middle to score Rutledge and Delgado. Parkside would score their third run with smart base running as a run down between first and second would allow for Remington to score. The first inning would end with the 3-0 Parkside lead.
Quincy would immediately respond, scoring three runs in the second frame, knotting up the score at 3-3.Â
The Hawks would push one run across in both the fifth and sixth innings to go ahead 5-3 and go on to win.
