BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Parkside women's soccer team played in Thursday afternoon GLIAC action as they traveled up to take on Ferris State. The Rangers picked up their first win over the Bulldogs since 2013, 2-0.
"Great game today," said head coach
Brittany Nikolic following the win. "We came out ready to compete and I think we dominated the play for most of the game. We like the vibes and we're going to keep riding the momentum to our last home Saturday.

- Kayden Schmidt collected her first career goal in the victory. Her goal would also stand as the game winner.
- Emily Mikkelson had quite the day at the office having set up both Ranger goals to compile two assists on the afternoon.
How It Happened
The Rangers offense got going early as they struck first in the fifth minute.
Emily Mikkelson would drive down the right side of the field and send a cross into the box. The ball would be played on by
Chloe Jarosz to
Madi Kasianowicz who would put the ball in the back of the net to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead.
Parkside would tack another goal just before the end of the first half in the 42
nd minute. Once again, Mikkelson would send a cross across the face of the goal to connect with
Kayden Schmidt who would send it past the keeper to give the Rangers the 2-0 advantage.
The second half featured plenty of pressure applied by Ferris State. The Bulldog offense would come through with too little too late as they would pick up an 84
th minute goal. But the Parkside defense would park the bus in the final six minutes to prevent the equalizing goal and securing the 2-1 victory.

The Rangers will now return home for the regular season finale on Saturday. Parkside will host Davenport University at Wood Road Field with kickoff set for 12 p.m. CST.
