Rangers Battle to Draw Against St. Cloud State

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Parkside men's soccer team returned to action on Friday afternoon. The Rangers battled the Huskies of St. Cloud State in GLIAC action. The two sides battled to a 2-2 draw.

Inside the Box Score
  • The Rangers put on an offensive clinic despite the draw. Parkside would post 29 shots on the afternoon, the most in a match since the Rangers 2018 season opener. 
  • Paco Piscaglia picked up his fifth goal of the season. He is now the Rangers goal scoring leader. 
  • Eduardo Perez claimed his first goal as a Ranger in the draw.

How it Happened
The match was a tail of two halves. The Rangers dominated the first half of action, notching their two goals in the opening 45 minutes. Eduardo Perez opened the scoring in the 32nd minute of play. Perez would recieve the ball from Tank Anderson and do the rest, beating the goalkeeper and giving the Rangers the 1-0 lead. 

The Rangers would tack on a second goal in the 41st minute. Bryan Torres would beat his defender one on one down the sideline and send a cross into the box. Paco Piscaglia would connect, volleying the ball home off his right foot to give the Rangers the 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.

The second half was a different story for the Rangers as they would concede goals in the 52nd and the 65th minute. The Rangers would go on to search for the equalizer, coming close seeral times but unable to find the beat the Huskies goalkeeper. The match would end a 2-2 draw.

The Rangers are now set to wrap up the regular season on Sunday. The Rangers will host Northern Michigan at Wood Road Field.
