Men's Soccer Set For Two GLIAC Matches at Wood Road Field

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside men's soccer program, coming off a 1-1-0 weekend, is set to return to Wood Road Field to host two GLIAC contests. They will open the weekend hosting No. 16 Saginaw Valley State on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. CDT. The Rangers will then host Davenport on Sunday with another 2:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Rangers enter this week's action after falling to St. Cloud State 4-3 in a thriller and picking up a crucial victory over Northern Michigan. Paco Piscaglia had himself a big game against St. Cloud State, collecting two goals.
 
 
SCOUTING SAGINAW VALLEY STATE
The Cardinals remain in the USCA Top 25 for the third week in a row, coming in No. 16 in Division II. They enter this week with a 5-2-0 record. They dropped their most recent outing against Roosevelt at home 2-1.
 
The Cardinals offensive attack is lead by senior Mzo Mthembu. Mthembu has notched five goals so far in 2024 and leads the team in points with ten. Of his five goals, two have been game winners for the Cardinals.
 
Nick Kay has played every minute in goal for SVSU. Kay has accumulated 540 minutes between the posts, collecting 22 saves and two clean sheets.
 
HISTORY
This will mark the 16th time the two programs have met. The Rangers hold the slim advantage over the Cardinals at 6-4-5 all time.
 
 
SCOUTING DAVENPORT
The Panthers currently hold a 4-3-1 overall record. In their most recent outing the Panthers captured a 2-1 decision over Roosevelt in their most recent game. They are set to play in Hammond on Friday against PNW before coming to Kenosha on Sunday.
 
Their offensive attack is powered by Easton Lopez. Lopez has notched four goals in eight games played this season. Teammate Cam Power has been a key facilitator in the offense, leading the Panthers in assists with three so far.
 
Jacob Lee has started in the two most recent contests for the Panthers. In those two games he has allowed four goals and has gone 1-1.
 
HISTORY
The Rangers hold the upper hand in the all-time series, holding an 8-5-1 record.
