Rangers Fall To Saginaw Valley St.

KENOSHA, Wis. ---  The Parkside baseball team hosted the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Friday afternoon for the first of two doubleheaders this weekend. The Cardinal bats were hot on the beautiful April day, downing the Rangers by final scores of 24-3 and 21-10.
 
GAME ONE
Andrew Harris and Emanuel Andujar Ferreira each had two hits in the series opener.
 
SVSU scored the first 16 runs of the contest, including ten in the top of the fifth. Parkside plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth, one on a Harris single down the left field line and the other on an Andujar Ferreira single through the right side.
 
The Rangers got one final run in the seventh on a Reece Homan homer to left, but they would ultimately fall by a final score of 24-3.
 
GAME TWO
Harris led the offense, going 2-5 with five RBIs and a grand slam. Jared Heinzen went 3-4 with two walks. Ryan Brouch also reached base three times.
 
The Saginaw Valley bats stayed hot early in game two. The Cardinals scored the first 13 runs of the contest before the Rangers were able to plate three in the bottom of the fifth. Parkside scored the runs on a Max Bruff single to left and a Harris double to left center.
 
After Saginaw Valley added three more runs in the top of the sixth, Parkside was able to plate five in the bottom half, scoring one on a Noah Tyrrell single to left and four on a Harris grand slam to right on a 1-2 pitch
 
Parkside plated two more runs in the bottom of the ninth, but it was not enough, falling by a final score of 21-10.
 
UP NEXT
