Preview: Rangers Set to Travel To Lewis for Non Conference Game

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Parkside women's basketball team is set to play their last non conference match up before opening GLIAC play on Tuesday at Lewis. The Rangers are set to tip off against the Flyers at 5:30 p.m. CST in Romeoville.

  • The Rangers are coming off an eight day break after playing two games in Minnesota. The Rangers went 1-1, dropping the first game of the trip to Minnesota State-Mankato 98-68. Parkside would bounce back and pick up a 70-61 victory over Northern State.
  • The Rangers are currently being led by point guard Sheridan Flauger. The junior is coming off a career performance against Northern State pouring in a career high 22 points in the game while shooting 4-7 from beyond the three point line. 
  • This game will serve as the final tune-up for the Rangers before heading into conference play on Thursday against Lake Superior State.

Scouting Lewis
The Flyers will enter Tuesday's game with a 5-2 record. Lewis is a perfect 4-0 in conference play as they recently topped Southwest Baptist 73-62. The Flyers two losses came at the hands of GLIAC teams. Northern Michigan beat Lewis in their season opener 56-52. Just a day later they faced Michigan Tech and dropped a lopsided 83-64 decision. The Flyers lone non conference win game against PNW by nine points, 75-66.

Lewis is led by graduate student Grace Hilber. The Sun Prairie, Wis. native is currently averaging 19.1 ppg. On November 27 Hilber poured in a season high 26 points against Truman State while shooting 12-21 from the field. Including Hilber, the Flyers have four players averaging above 30 mpg.

Series History
This will be the 34th time the Rangers have taken on the Flyers. The overall record favors the Flyers at 20-13.
