TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Parkside men's soccer team traveled to Ohio to open the Regional Round of NCAA Tournament play. The Friday afternoon match was played in rainy conditions and led to the Rangers dropping the match to the Saints in overtime in a 4-3 scoreline.

- Redshirt Freshman Alejandro Martinez recorded a brace in the effort. Martinez ends the season as the Rangers top goal scorer.
- The other Ranger goal came from the foot of Bryan Torres, his fourth of the year.
- Each side was able to fire off 17 shots on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers struck first in the ninth minute of action.
Julian Villalobos switched fields over to
Alejandro Martinez who was able to put the ball past the keeper and put the score to 1-0 in favor of the Rangers.
Just 11 minutes later the Saints were able to answer to knot the score up at 1-1. Parkside then responded in the 28th minute of play with a goal. A shot by
Alejandro Martinez was saved by the Saints keeper but spilled, and
Bryan Torres was able to clean up the mess and put Parkside back in front 2-1.
Just ten minutes before the first half ended Maryville was able to strike once again and tied things up at 2-2 heading into the half.
The next goal came 22 minutes into the second half. Once again
Alejandro Martinez showed off his magic and finished the ball into the right side netting to put the Rangers ahead once again, this time 3-2. Martinez would finish the day with the brace and five points.
The Saints weren't done either and would find the equalizer in the 72nd minute. The score would be pushed to 3-3 and would force the overtime period. Maryville would go on to score the lone overtime goal in the 97th minute and advance to the next round of the tournament.
The Rangers offically end their 2023 campaign at 9-5-3 overall and GLIAC Regular Season Champions with a 7-2-1 conference record.
