MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The Parkside Rangers women's soccer team played in the program's first ever GLIAC Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers played the host and No. 1 seeded Northern Michigan Wildcats at NMU Soccer Field. Parkside fell at the hands of the Wildcats in a 1-0 scoreline.

- The Rangers were out shot on the afternoon 24-6.
- Of the six shots Parkside took, they were able to put three of them on frame.
- Izzy Guyer had a career day in goal in her final collegiate match. The senior goalkeeper racked up a season high 12 saves. Her play through the entire tournament earned her All Tournament Team honors.
- Along with Guyer, senior midfielder Alexis Bolger and sophomore forward Emily Mikkelson were also named to the All Tournament Team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats were on the doorstep of a goal until they finally broke through in the 22nd minute. A foul conceded by the Rangers set up a set piece opportunity that the Wildcats were able to capitalize on, and go up 1-0.
From there on out the Rangers searched for the equalizing goal. The best chance came in the dying minutes of the match when
Alexis Baker sent
Emily Mikkelson through for a one on one opportunity with the Northern Michigan goalkeeper. Mikkelson sent the shot just wide left of the goal in the 84th minute.
The Wildcats would see the scoreline through the final minutes and captured the GLIAC Tournament title.
The Rangers season now concludes with the loss. The Rangers officially end the season with an 8-8-4 record overall while reaching the GLIAC Tournament Championship for the first time since joining the conference.
