Rangers Drop Both Games Against Northwood on Senior Day

GAME 1: Northwood 11, Parkside 2
GAME 2: Northwood 17, Parkside 5
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside baseball team closed out their four-game series with a doubleheader against the Northwood Timberwolves. The Rangers celebrated Senior Day, as they recognized their seven seniors: Daniel Balzhiser, Bryce Brogni, Brendan Collins, Nick Draheim, Dominic Esposito, Kurt Mlachnik, Alex Saunders, and Hunter Weddel.
 
GAME 1 RECAP
The Timberwolves jumped out to an early 6-0 lead with back-to-back three-run innings to start the game. The Rangers got on the board in the second with an RBI double by Brendan Collins to score Ryan Brouch. The Timberwolves added two more runs in the fourth to increase their lead to 8-1. Brouch came around to score again on an RBI groundout by Bryce Inman to make the score 8-2. The Timberwolves added three more runs in the seventh inning to cap off an 11-2 victory.
 
Caden Bronkhorst was credited with the loss after throwing five innings and allowing eight runs.
 
GAME 2 RECAP
The Timberwolves scored three runs in the first inning to jump ahead 3-0. They added four in the third and one in the fourth to make the score 8-0. The Rangers got on the board in bottom of fourth with Brouch scoring on a wild pitch. The Timberwolves added three more runs to their lead in the fifth inning, making the score 11-1. The Rangers rallied in the fifth inning, as Andrew Leair singled to score Collins and Caleb Badgley. Dominic Esposito later singled to score Leair and Hunter Weddel. The rally would not cut into the deficit for long, as the Timberwolves were able to plate across five runs in the seventh inning and one more in the ninth to win 17-5.
