Baseball Falls in Both Games at Wayne State

DETROIT, Mich. – The Parkside baseball team concluded their road trip with a pair of makeup games against the Wayne state Warriors. After a long road trip, the Rangers struggled to produce offensively and fell in two lopsided games to the Warriors.
 
GAME 1 RECAP
The first game of the doubleheader stayed scoreless through the first two innings. The Warriors were then able to get the offense going, scoring seven runs in the third, two in the fourth, and three more runs in the fifth to beat the Rangers 12-0.
 
The Rangers were held to just two hits in the game which came from Bryce Inman and Jared Heinzen. Kaleb Schulist was handed the loss after going 4.2 innings on the mound.
 
GAME 2 RECAP
The Warriors jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Caleb Badgely gave the Rangers the lead in the third as he singled to right center to score Kurt Mlachnik and Noah Tyrrell. The Rangers lead did not last long, as the Warriors were able to score four runs in the fourth and they never looked back. The Warriors added five more runs in the fifth inning. The Rangers made a push in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to score any more runs.
 
Noah Gerritson was credited with the loss after going 3.0 innings while giving up three earned runs.
