Box Score FINAL: Drury 24, Parkside 2
RECAP
The Drury Panthers completed the series sweep against the Rangers on Monday in Springfield, Missouri, beating the Rangers 24-2.
Drury was able to get off to a hot start once again, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first; four of which came on back-to-back home runs. Parkside's bats were cold as they were held hitless through five and two-thirds innings. Senior
Hunter Weddel spoiled the Panthers perfect game bid in the sixth with a single to center field. With the score sitting at 12-0, the Panthers continued to extend their lead with a 9-run sixth inning, which came on five hits. Sophomore
Andrew Harris hit a 1-out double to left field, which was followed up with a pinch-hit triple from senior
Dominic Esposito, scoring Harris and putting Parkside on the board. Senior
Kurt Mlachnik was able to get the second Rangers run home with a sacrifice fly later in the inning. Drury proceeded to add three more runs to their total in the seventh and eighth innings, making the final score 24-2.
Five Rangers totaled a hit in Monday's matchup, meanwhile Esposito and Mlachnik knocked in the only two RBI's for Parkside. Sophomore Philip Harper started the game on the mound, earning two runs off of seven hits in his 2-inning season debut. Senior
Nicholas Schouten lead the Rangers with four strikeouts on nine batters faced.

The Rangers will head to Springfield, Ill. to face Illinois-Springfield in a three game series on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 4 and 5.
