Shane Gantz has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) wrestler of the week.
Gantz improved to 16-0 on the season by scoring a takedown of Cory Peterson of McKendree to earn the 4-2 sudden victory. Gantz's victory helped the No. 11 ranked Rangers defeat No. 13 McKendree by a final score of 24-14 in a dual hosted inside the historic University of Wisconsin Fieldhouse at the Wisconsin Wrestling Showcase.
"Shane is something special and is a stellar student-athlete," remarked head coach
Nick Becker. "He puts the team before his individual accomplishments and leads this team with the utmost class. I am proud of him that he has earned this accomplishment and I know he will continue to put in the work."
