HEAR FROM COACH ZITZKE
"I want to start by congratulating Coach Korn and Maryville University. He has done an outstanding job of building his program and has a very good team. Good luck to them moving forward. Obviously, you are disappointed when your season ends. However, through the ups and downs of the last couple of weeks, from the GLIAC tournament to finishing today, I am overwhelmed with pride in how our assistant coaches worked to prepare the team and how the team battled through adverse moments. They finished the season in a very strong way. I'm thankful for the support from the Parkside administration and staff, as well as all of the people who are associated with the university. I also would like to thank our families and friends, our alumni, and the Wisconsin soccer community for the outpouring of support and kind words, especially over the last ten days of the NCAA Tournament. I really appreciate all of the contributions and support from all over. Lastly, I want to thank our seniors. Just like everyone their age, they had a very difficult two years navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic, shutdown, and distance learning. Over the course of the last four years, we went from being a struggling program to being a winning team the last four seasons. We have reached the semi-finals of the conference tournament every season, won two conference championships, two GLIAC Tournament championships, and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in three consecutive seasons. Obviously, they will be leaving behind a lasting legacy. After a couple days to decompress, we will begin the difficult task of filling the shoes of this incredible graduating class, it will be hard to replace what those guys and what they brought to this program."
