The Parkside men's soccer team hosted the Davenport Panthers on Sunday at Wood Road Field. The Rangers welcomed back their alumni, and recognized seniors
Tode Atlija,
Henry Bruer-Schmadalla,
Marcos Calderon Jimenez, and
David Milan as part of a pregame Senior Day celebration. The Rangers and Panthers were caught in a tight battle until the very end, but the Rangers found a way to come out on top and earn their fourth straight win against the Panthers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers struck first with a goal in the 29
th minute. Davenport goalkeeper Shane Marinkovich made an attempt to clear the ball out of the defensive third of the field, but accidentally passed the ball to Parkside's
Osvaldo Sanchez Arellano for an open net goal to take the lead. The Panthers found a way to even the score in the second half, with Matt Whelan scoring off an assist from Cian Quinn in the 61
st minute. Davenport controlled the momentum for most of the second half, but the Rangers found an opportunity in the 76
th minute and took advantage as
Alejandro Martinez scored on a rebound shot to give the Rangers back the lead and allow the Green and White to come away with a much-needed victory.
A LOOK AT THE STATS
Sanchez Arellano earned his first goal of the season, while Martinez scored his second. Whelan earned his team leading 11
th goal of the year for the Panthers.
Robin Hermann earned five saves in goal for the Rangers, bringing his season total to 40 saves.
