GAME 1 RECAP
The Timberwolves ended up winning on a walkoff in the bottom of the seventh inning in a game that featured just seven combined hits.
Â
Hausl got the starting nod in game one, and she finished the complete game allowing five hits, three runs (two earned) with seven walks and two strikeouts.
Â
Parkside got on the board first in the top of the fifth, as Hausl came in to score after senior
Alyssa Laxson reached on an error, making it 1-0 Rangers. Thanks to a Parkside error, Northwood came back to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth, however, but the Rangers fought back, tying it up with a sophomore
Jadynn Powell RBI single that scored sophomore
Cassie Rutledge.
Â
In the bottom of the seventh, Northwood went single, walk and the walkoff double to end it.
Â
The Rangers were limited to just two hits in game one, coming from Rutledge and Powell. Hausl and Delgado each drew a pair of walks.
Â
GAME 2 RECAP
Game two went back-and-forth, and the Rangers brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn't get a big hit they needed.
Â
Parkside took the early lead in game two, thanks to a Miklos RBI single that scored senior
Morgan Moore. Davenport used a 3-run third inning to come back and take the 3-1 advantage; that inning included a walk, an error and a wild pitch.
Â
Like game one, Parkside bounced back, this time using a 2-run fourth inning with both runs coming in on a junior
Kiley Akey 2-run double over the right fielder's head. The Panthers regained the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, an inning that started with a leadoff walk and a 2-run double with two outs.
Â
Senior
Cassidy Prucha led the seventh off with a walk, but three straight strikeouts ended the game.
Â
Aliverti finished 2-for-3, while Miklos went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Akey came through with her two-run double. Akey started the game for Parkside and suffered the loss, going 4.2 innings allowing five runs, four earned. Senior
