The Parkside men's soccer team dropped the season-opener at Ashland Sunday afternoon, as the Eagles used an early goal in overtime to secure the win. Parkside will host Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, March 14 at noon with the location to be announced this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles scored the first goal of the game in the 44
th minute on a penalty kick that came off a corner kick. Brajdi Cekrezi put Ashland up 1-0 as the teams went to the break. In the 55
th minute, Parkside responded, as redshirt-freshman
Bryan Torres scored the Rangers' first goal of the 2021 season that came from an assist by redshirt-junior
Rade Novakovich.

The teams went scoreless the rest of the way until overtime, where the Eagles scored in the first minute on a controversial no-call to the end the game.

The Rangers finished with seven shots in the first half and one in the second, as both teams finished with eight in the game. The Eagles had two in overtime while the Rangers didn't record a shot. Senior
