McKendree's Offense Too Much for Rangers on Sunday

The Parkside baseball team got an early lead in the series finale at McKendree, but the Bearcats offense exploded as they pulled away for the game four win. The Rangers will head to Schaumburg to face Roosevelt and St. Ambrose next Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the top of the first inning, Garrett LaBreche hit a one-out single and stole second. After an Austin Emanuel walk, Carlos Arteaga hit a two-run double to put the Rangers up 2-0.
 
McKendree then scored 16 unanswered runs in the first through the sixth inning, including a four-run first inning and a six-run sixth inning. Parkside scored a couple more runs in the seventh inning as Emanuel hit a two-run single that plated Kurt Mlachnik and Bryce Brogni.
 
STATWORTHY
Arteaga finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Emanuel went 1-for-2 with two RBI and drew a pair of walks. LaBreche went 1-for-2 with a run. Matt Helwig suffered the loss while Sean Sodaro went 1.1 scoreless innings.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers will head to Schaumburg to face Roosevelt and St. Ambrose next Sunday. GLIAC play opens up on March 26 where Parkside will hit the road to face Davenport.
