Shane Gantz beat the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the nation at 165 pounds, but St. Cloud State, who hasn't lost a dual match since 2016, was too much for Parkside. The Rangers fall to to 1-4 this season while the top-ranked Huskies improved to 3-0.

Parkside entered Thursday's dual with three wrestlers in the latest NWCA Division II rankings, with Joe Arroyo at No. 3, Gantz at No. 12 and freshman
Reece Worachek at No. 8. SCSU entered with seven of its 10 wrestlers ranked, including three wrestlers ranked No. 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The dual started at heavyweight, where SCSU's No. 1 Kameron Teacher beat
Nate Lloyd in an 8-0 major decision. Arroyo got the Rangers on the board, beating Paxton Creese 6-3 to make it 4-3 SCSU. The Huskies earned a win by forfeit at 133, a major decision at 141 and a decision 149 to take a 17-3 lead.

Parkside got a huge win at 157, where freshman
Ben Durocher beat No. 4 Jake Barzowski in the tiebreak followed by Gantz' monster 3-1 decision over No. 1 Devin Fitzpatrick. The Huskies went on to win at 174, 184 and 197 to close out the match.

Worachek (4-1) and
Job Ayala (2-1) each suffered their first loss of the season while Gantz and Arroyo improved to 5-0.

WHAT'S NEXT
With the Rangers' final home dual of the season behind them, they'll head to Minnesota State next Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. NCAA II Super Regionals is set for Feb. 27 in Aberdeen, S.D.
