Grand Valley State 6, Parkside 0
The Parkside women's soccer team kicked off the doubleheader with a match against #1 Grand Valley State Lakers.  The weather was not ideal, as the rain continued to intensify throughout the match and the winds were raging from the north end of Wood Road Field.  The Rangers held the Lakers to just two goals the last time these two teams met, but the top team in the country was in total control today.  The Lakers got on the board in the 35^th minute with a goal from Greta Deloach.  Despite a quiet first half, the Lakers offense came roaring back in the second half.  Kennedy Bearden tallied goals in the 47^th and 58^th minute.  Mackenzie Jones scored in the 77^th minute.  Stephanie Sturgeon found the back of the net in the 86^th minute, while Caitie Baron was able to score in the 90^th minute.

STATWORTHY
The Lakers outshot the Rangers 20-4.  The Rangers did have an opportunity for a corner kick, while the Lakers had 12 chances.  Sophomore Kelsey Gross got her first career start in goal for the Rangers.  She earned five saves.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE RANGERS
Parkside will travel to Midland, Mich. on Halloween for a matchup against the Timberwolves of Northwood.  Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CST.
