Box Score BOX SCORE

Northern Michigan 77, Parkside 76

Game two of Parkside Women's Basketball's season opening doubleheader against Northern Michigan was just as close as the first, with the Wildcats able to complete the season sweep. The Rangers looked like they might take it after a three from senior Alexis Vaughn put them up one with :11 seconds left in the game. The visitors' responded when Samantha Potter was able to draw a foul with three seconds left and head to the line where she put her team up 77-76. The Rangers had a good look on a Vaughn three to win the game at the buzzer, but her attempt hit the front of the rim and bounced out. Northern Michigan will leave Kenosha 2-0 after outscoring Parkside by four points across the two contests.

RECAP
The Green & White were able to jump out to an early lead after starting the game with a 14-6 run. That lead never got below four until five minutes left in the fourth quarter when a three from Northern Michigan's Taya Stevenson cut the lead to one, 65-64. The teams traded baskets in those last five, but the Wildcats were eventually able to squeeze out their second crunch-time win over Parkside. They outscored the hosts 26-13 in the final frame.
