Rangers Stumble against #3 Ashland

#3 Ashland 92, Parkside 66
Parkside's eight-game winning streak came to an end Saturday after a 32-6 fourth quarter sealed the game for the GLIAC South leaders. With the loss, the Rangers move to 10-7 overall and 7-2 in GLIAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ashland proved their #3 ranking and jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game. The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter, until the Eagles used the last two minutes to go on another run. This time, they outscored Parkside 10-2 over a two-minute stretch, and took a 28-12 lead into the quarter break. Down 16 to the #3 nationally ranked team, the Rangers knew they would have to start clawing back right away. They did that in the second quarter when they outscored the Eagles 26-18, and got back within single digits before the halftime break, 46-38.

The two teams battled out of the break and traded baskets until a surge from Parkside saw them take a 62-60 lead after a Taylor Stephen and-1. Unfortunately, that was the last of the lead the Rangers saw, and they were outscored 32-6 to finish the game.
