Parkside baseball has its senior day ceremony on Saturday as the team hosted Davenport in a doubleheader, but the visiting Panthers spoiled the day for the Rangers as Davenport won game one 3-1 and took game two 13-3.

GAME 1: Davenport 3, Parkside 1
Davenport roughed up
Peyton Schneider in the first inning, scoring three runs to take a 3-0 lead, but Schneider figured out the Davenport offense, finishing the complete-game without allowing a run in the final six innings.

The Panthers pitching staff was on in game one however, and the Rangers were held to one run, which came in to score on an error in the bottom of the second inning. Parkside did not have a baserunner in the final three innings.

Hunter Weddel tallied the two hits for the Rangers in game one.

GAME 2: Davenport 13, Parkside 3
Game two of the day stayed close until the final two innings, where Parkside trailed 5-3 after the fifth inning, but Davenport scored eight runs in the final two innings to pull away.

After the Panthers took a 5-0 lead after the top of the third inning, Parkside pushed its first run across on an RBI double by Bennett in the bottom of the third. The Rangers made it a 5-3 ball game in the bottom of the fifth where
Casey Oliver hit an RBI triple to score
Matt Tegtmeier and Weddel brought in Oliver on an RBI single.

Bennett finished 2-for-3 while Oliver went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Shawn Rigsby added a double as well. Senior
Nicholas Rana was tagged with the loss.

SERIES FINALE
Parkside will play Davenport on Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. in the team's final GLIAC game of the 2019 season.
