Northwood pounded out 17 hits in the big win over the Rangers in Parkside's home opener at Historic Simmons Field. The two teams will battle again on Saturday, April 6 in a doubleheader beginning at noon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Northwood took an early 2-0 advantage in the first inning and led 10-0 before Parkside could get on the board. In the bottom of the fifth,
Justin Bennett drove in
Ricky West on an RBI groundout and the Rangers made it 10-2 as
Michael Pillizzi hit an RBI groundout that plated
Noah Tyrrell. Northwood went on to add nine more runs to close out the game.

STATWORTHY
ÂÂÂTyrrell finished 2-for-4 with a triple while Bennett went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Shawn Rigsby, the leadoff batter, went 1-for-2 with a walk. Northwood had eight extra base hits, including four home runs.

Parkside will host Northwood at noon for a pair of 7-inning games on Saturday, before finishing out the series on Sunday, April 7 at noon.
