The Rangers were back at the Rosemont Dome on Saturday. Parkside battled hard but were ultimately defeated in both games, falling to William Jewell 6-3, and 6-1 to Winona State.
GAME 1: William Jewell 6, Parkside 3
Alyssa Hrncar started the on the mound for the Rangers and suffered the loss while
Kiley Akey pitched 2.2 scoreless innings to close the game. William Jewell scored four runs in the third inning followed by another two runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
How it Happened
The two teams were scoreless until the bottom half of the third inning when William Jewell used a pair of extra-base hits to put up four runs in the inning. The Cardinals extended their lead to 6-0 in the fourth inning. Parkside got on the board in the sixth with a sac fly by
Kate Czoschke. The Rangers rallied in the seventh, scoring two runs on RBI's from
Cassie Walek and
Megan Aliverti.

GAME 2: #15 Winona State 6, Parkside 1
The bats went cold as the Rangers registered four hits in the game. Winona State jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, scoring two runs. The Warriors tacked on runs throughout the game, adding runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings while holding Parkside to four hits.
How it Happened
A pair of base hits helped the Warriors grab the early lead in the first inning. Winona State tacked on three more, adding one in the third and two in the fourth before the Rangers responded. In the fourth inning, Aliverti singled to bring in Walek, who reached on a single. Winona State added a run late to solidify the game.
Statworthy
Allison Hausl pitched a complete game for the Rangers, giving up six runs on seven hits. Parkside was led by Aliverti, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Walek and Sikon also had hits for the Rangers.
What's Next
The Rangers will finish their weekend at the Rosement Dome on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. against No. 12 Illinois-Springfield. Parkside will have an extended break before they head to McKendree on March 8 for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
