#8 MINNESOTA STATE 20, PARKSIDE 18
The Parkside wrestling team had a nice start against No. 8 ranked Minnesota State Thursday night on the road, but the Mavericks were able to escape with the 20-18 victory in Mankato, Minn. Shane Gantz and Rodsean Graham each earned wins over ranked opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Joe Arroyo got the Rangers out to a 4-0 lead after an 11-1 major decision at 125 pounds. No. 9 Airk Furseth followed that up with a 20-5 dominating technical fall at 133 to give Parkside the 9-0 lead on the home Mavericks. MSU had back-to-back ranked wrestlers up next, where they earned decisions at both 141 and 149 to make it 9-6 Parkside. The Mavericks tied it up 9-9 with a decision at 157, but Shane Gantz gave the Rangers the lead again with a huge 6-4 sudden victory win over No. 6 Logan Saltou.

After an MSU tech fall at 174 and an MSU pin at 184, Parkside earned two straight wins to end the match. Rodsean Graham earned an 8-7 decision over No. 6 Matt Blome and Nate Lloyd won in a sudden victory over Max Villnow at 285, but the final two decisions weren't enough for Parkside.
