#8 MINNESOTA STATE 20, PARKSIDE 18
The Parkside wrestling team had a nice start against No. 8 ranked Minnesota State Thursday night on the road, but the Mavericks were able to escape with the 20-18 victory in Mankato, Minn.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Joe Arroyo got the Rangers out to a 4-0 lead after an 11-1 major decision at 125 pounds. No. 9
Airk Furseth followed that up with a 20-5 dominating technical fall at 133 to give Parkside the 9-0 lead on the home Mavericks. MSU had back-to-back ranked wrestlers up next, where they earned decisions at both 141 and 149 to make it 9-6 Parkside. The Mavericks tied it up 9-9 with a decision at 157, but
Shane Gantz gave the Rangers the lead again with a huge 6-4 sudden victory win over No. 6 Logan Saltou.

After an MSU tech fall at 174 and an MSU pin at 184, Parkside earned two straight wins to end the match.
Rodsean Graham earned an 8-7 decision over No. 6 Matt Blome and
Nate Lloyd won in a sudden victory over Max Villnow at 285, but the final two decisions weren't enough for Parkside.

Parkside stays in the state of Minnesota tomorrow, facing Augustana on Friday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. followed by a dual with No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney at 11:30 a.m.
