HOW IT HAPPENED
The intensity and physicality were at an all-time high for Parkside's biggest match of the year to date. The teams battled but couldn't find separation until the 21
st minute. It all started with a Ranger corner that fell to sophomore
Henry Bruer, who lashed a shot towards goal that ricocheted of a Davenport defenders' hand. Â After it was concluded a penalty, redshirt-senior
Leki Prpa stepped up and buried the penalty to the right of the Panther keeper to give Parkside the 1-0 lead. Following the goal, the Rangers buckled down and looked to secure the victory, and it looked like they would do so until a 65
th minute goal equalized for Davenport. Each team had opportunities to take the game throughout the end of regulation and overtime, but some key saves from both keepers kept the game level to end it.

HEAR FROM COACH JASON ZITZKE
"I have a lot of respect for Davenport and their coach Chris Hughes. They're a very tough group that plays with a lot of spirit," said head coach
Jason Zitzke. "They kept battling and got that goal to make it 1-1. We both had opportunities to take the game but both of our goalkeepers made some great saves down the stretch. It was just a really competitive game with the effort, the challenges, and the overall atmosphere."
Â
"It was good to have the support in the stands today for alumni day," Zitzke continued. "It was a loud, boisterous crowd and we always appreciate the support. Coming up we have another chance on Thursday, and we look forward to that."
