HEAR FROM COACH CONELY
"It was a good team win today against Purdue Northwest," first year head coach
Jen Conely said. "It was great to see everyone play-I thought everyone made a positive contribution on the court."
"I loved our intensity in the second quarter and I thought this was a big reason why we won today," Conely added. "Offensively, we moved the ball around pretty well and had a balance in scoring."
"It's great competing at home," Conely concluded. " I know we are looking forward to next week."
FIRST HALF
The Pride were able to get on the board first, but their early jumper was followed by a 3-point basket by redshirt-senior
Blair Arthur. In the first quarter, both teams went even and because Parkside had two different players get bloody noses, some unexpected stoppage time was used. The quarter expired with the Rangers leading 19-14. Coming off some heat from the first quarter, Parkside went on a 14-0 run to start the second quarter, not letting PNW score until 4:02, making it a 31-16 Parkside advantage. As the game went to halftime, the Rangers held the Pride to only five points while scoring 22.
SECOND HALF
In the third quarter, the teams went back-and-forth as both teams went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. The Pride scored more points in the third quarter than they did in the first half total, going for 20 points in the third quarter alone. Senior
Georgie Eishold had the last basket of the quarter as time expired, making the score 67-39. Senior Lucjia Bilic scored two fast break layups within 20-seconds of each other to close out the game. In the fourth quarter, Parkside saw a lot of scoring off the bench but the Pride were able to outscore the Rangers. However, Parkside still came out on top with a final score of 80-57.
