KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside wrestling team earned second win of the season over a ranked opponent, as the Rangers defeated No. 12 Indianapolis 21-12 at DeSimone Gymnasium Thursday on Senior Night.

"UIndy is a great program and it felt good to get a win over them, especially at home on senior night," head coach Corey VanGroll said. "The guys competed well, but we have a lot to clean up yet."
 
Parkside opened up with two straight decisions at 125 and 133, as Joe Arroyo earned an 8-4 decision followed by No. 10 Airk Furseth with a 3-1 decision. After the Greyhounds took decisions at 141 and 149, Christian Robertson put the Rangers up 9-6 with an 8-2 decision at 157. Following the intermission, UIndy tied it up at 9-9 with a sudden victory at 165, but the trio of Connor Price, James Lehman and Job Ayala finished off UIndy. Price won a 6-3 decision, followed by a pin by No. 3 Lehman and a 14-9 decision by Ayala at 197. The match ended with a long battle at 285, with Joe Foret falling 4-3 in a tiebreaker.
 
During the intermission, the Rangers recognized their four seniors in Matt Stopka, Foret, Price and Lehman for all their hard word and sacrifices to the Parkside wrestling program over their careers. Parkside has roughly a month until the NCAA II Super Regionals in Moorhead, Minn., on Feb. 23. Parkside will hit the road to face UW-Whitewater on Thursday, Jan. 31 and head to the Eau Claire Don Parker Open on Feb. 2.
