Due to field conditions at Wood Road Field, the Rangers traveled to Carthage College, playing on Art Keller Field for the match against Illinois Springfield.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With only 10 seconds left in the half, junior
Kapaw Htoo lofted a ball over the top of the UIS back line and right to the foot of redshirt-freshman
Jack Mittelsteadt, who then beat the keeper and slotted the ball into the goal. This was Mittelsteadt's first goal of the season. Mittelsteadt added his second goal of the season at the 46th minute, answering the Prairie Stars early second half goal. Redshirt-junior
Leki Prpa assisted this goal.

Joe Elwell added the final goal for the Rangers at the 77th minute off an assist from senior
Reyes Perez. Parkside let in two late goals, costing them the victory over UIS. Â

Parkside tallied four shots on goal and junior goalkeeper
Juan Gonzalez made five saves for the Rangers. The Prairie Stars accumulated 16 fouls throughout the game with one yellow card while the Rangers left the game with nine fouls and a yellow of their own.
WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside travels to Springfield, Mo., on Sunday, Sept. 9 where the Rangers are set to take on the Drury Panthers at noon. The Rangers won't return to Wood Road Field until Sunday, Sept. 21 when they play Northwood at noon. This will be the Rangers GLIAC home opener.
