HEAR FROM COACH ZITZKE

"We talked about wanting to make a good first impression in the league," head coach Jason Zitzke said. "Saginaw is at the top of the league, and they are every year, so this was a good result for us."
"It's only one result, but one our team really battled to get," Zitzke added. "At the very least, we will remember our first GLIAC contest."

LATE GOAL SEALS THE DEAL

After a scoreless first half of play, in the 81st, freshman Henry Bruer headed the ball into the back of the net off a free kick from redshirt-junior Leki Prpa. This is Bruer's first goal of the season. The Ranger defense held off the Cardinals for the remainder of the match, earning their first win in the GLIAC.

STATWORTHY

Parkside and Saginaw Valley had a tough battled game resulting three yellow cards for the Rangers and a yellow as well as red card for the Cardinals. Junior goalkeeper Juan Gonzalez made eight saves, earning a clean slate at the 90th minute.
