ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Parkside softball ended its four-game weekend with a sweep of Maryville on the road Sunday afternoon, as the Rangers took down the Saints 3-2 in game one and finished off with a 5-4 victory in game two. Parkside improved to 12-12 on the year overall and 3-3 in conference play.

In game one,
Allison Hausl tossed the complete game allowing just four hits and two earned runs to improve to 4-5 this season. The teams went scoreless for the first three innings until the Rangers broke through with a two-run fourth inning.
Madison Manders singled to center field to score
Jessica Miklos and Hausl followed that with an RBI single down the right field line to score
Danielle Crockett, making it 2-0 Rangers. Maryville answered back, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie it up. Parkside took the lead back in the top of the sixth, as Hausl continued to help her own cause with a sacrifice fly to score Crockett, who led the inning off with a walk.
Kellie Fenza and
Jessica Miklos each finished 2-for-4 with Crockett went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs. Miklos had the lone extra base hit for Parkside with a double.
In game two, the Rangers used a clutch three-run sixth inning after trailing to comeback and beat Maryville. The Saints scored a run in each the first and second inning to take an early 2-0 lead. Parkside answered back in the top of the third inning, tying it at 2-2 off a Manders RBI triple to left center and a Saints' error.
After Maryville scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead, it took to the sixth inning where the Rangers took over. Manders stayed hot at the plate with a big two-run double to left field to score Miklos and Crockett and the Green & White took the lead off another Saints error, making it 5-4.
Alyssa Hrncar improved to 8-3 this season and pitched the complete game, allowing eight hits and two walks while just one run was earned. Manders provided most of the offense, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBI. Hall went 1-for-2 with two runs.
The Rangers will welcome in Southern Indiana and McKendree next weekend for four straight home games at Case Softball Complex.
