KENOSHA, Wis. – In the first dual match of the season, No. 15 ranked Parkside wrestling took down Davenport at home 33-9 on Saturday night.

The night opened up with a forfeit at 125 for Joe Arroyo, putting the Rangers up 6-0.
Airk Furseth, who is ranked No. 3 at 133 pounds, earned a major decision (21-7) over Asher Meekhof. After a Davenport pin,
Nathan Smith earned a 7-2 decision at 149 followed by a 7-3 decision by
Shane Gantz and an 8-4 decision by
Christian Robertson. The Panthers took the 174 match, but
James Lehman followed that with an electrifying pin in just :31-seconds at 184. Lehman, who is ranked No. 3 at 184 pounds, stayed perfect on the year and improved to 11-0. The Ranger win was finished by a 22-4 technical fall by
Job Ayala at 197 and a tough 3-2 decision for
Joe Foret at 285.
During the intermission, Parkside's current graduate assistant coach
Nick Becker was presented his NCAA Division II Championship ring. Becker finished his career 89-0 last season and won his third straight NCAA title.
The Rangers will head to the Midwest Classic next weekend on Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15. Parkside returns home on Jan. 12 for the Ranger Duals, set for a 9 a.m. start.
