Ranger Women's Soccer Beats Northern Michigan in Conference Rematch

Siegel, Couves Score in Match

Parkside 2, Northern Michigan 1

HEAR FROM COACH NIKOLIC

"A well-played and hard-earned victory," head coach Brittany Nikolic said. "We had a lot of good performances today, but I think the way Jazmin Castanon and Kaylee Siegel impacted the game as well Chloe Couves, coming in clutch with her goal which really made a difference."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior Kaylee Siegel was able to put a ball away in the 37th minute to put Parkside up 1-0. This would mark Siegel's second goal of the season. The Ranger's held off Northern Michigan from scoring until the 44th minute.

In the 81st minute, senior Chloe Couves finished her sixth goal of the season. Couves unassisted goal would end up being the game-winner and the score would remain 2-1 as the final whistle blew.

STATWORTHY

Parkside created 15 opportunities for shots throughout the match, with nine of those being on target. Junior goalkeeper Adrianna Bratel made three saves while in the net today. Siegel led the Ranger's with four shots in the game while sophomore Delaney Benich and junior Maycee Kroening tallied three shots a piece followed by Couves and freshman Samantha Nickell with two each.

WHAT'S NEXT

Parkside will play at Michigan Tech on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. The Rangers will return home on Sunday, Oct. 21 against Purdue Northwest, which is Senior Day.
