LEBANON, Ill. – The No. 3 ranked UW-Parkside wrestling team had a tough weekend in front of it heading down to face No. 6 McKendree and No. 24 Maryville on the road, leading to a split at the pair of GLVC duals for the Rangers.

Parkside fell to McKendree 21-13 after going down early, where the Bearcats earned a forfeit win at 125. Airk Furseth downed Naquan Hardy 7-3, but McKendree went on to win the next four matches including Anthony Cheloni falling to No. 1 ranked Deron Wynn. It was a big matchup at 174, as Nick Becker and his 78-match winning streak had to face No. 4 Nick Foster, and Becker earned a tough-fought 8-7 win. James Lehman hit the mat next, and he came away with a 10-1 win to make it 21-10 McKendree before the final match, where Matt Halverson won 7-4 to make it a 21-13 final.

In the second match of the day, the Rangers took down No. 24 Maryville 24-15 behind wins from Furseth and Cheloni early. Pernevlon Sheppard bounced back with a win over Matt Pratt and Becker earned a major decision to move his streak to 80-matches. That led to another Lehman win at 197 and a forfeit at 285 for the Ranger victory.
