SOMERS, Wis. – On Senior Day, the No. 2 ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad scored a Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep with wins over Bellarmine University (51-6) and No. 13 University of Indianapolis (24-18) inside the Petretti Fieldhouse.

The Rangers (9-0) over powered the Knights (1-7) 51-6, with Bellarmine's only points coming off of a forfeit with UW-Parkside not having a wrestler for 125-pound weight class. The Rangers tallied 7 pins, one tech fall, and a major decision in the nine matches they competed in. The pins came from
Anthony Cheloni (141-pounds),
Frank Yattoni IV (149-pounds),
Pernevlon Sheppard (157-pounds),
Nick Becker (174-pounds),
Connor Price (184-pounds),
James Lehman (197-pounds), and
Matt Halverson (285-pounds).
In their second dual of the day, Parkside started off trailing with the 6-point forfeit at 125-pounds, but then took the team lead with three straight wins including two major decisions and No. 10 ranked
Anthony Cheloni bested No. 2 ranked Nick Crume 2-1. After two Ranger losses, the overall team score found Parkside trailing 11-15. No. 1 ranked
Nick Becker gave the Rangers the lead again after scoring his second fall of the day at 3:41.
Matt Halverson capped off the day with a 3-2 decision over No. 3 ranked Dylan Faulkenberg, giving Parkside the 24-18 overall win.
This was final home dual for UW-Parkside. The Rangers head to Lebanon, IL for to GLVC duals against host McKendree University and Maryville University on Jan. 26.
