SOMERS, Wis.-UW-Parkside women's basketball was defeated by William Jewell, in a 66-41 loss Thursday night at DeSimone Gymnasium. The Cardinals will add another win to improve their record to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the GLVC. The Rangers will look to bounce back Saturday, Jan. 20 at home as they play Rockhurst at 1 p.m.

The Rangers had a rough start as they were only able to put eight points on the board in the first half, shooting 12-percent from the field. After the first half, the Rangers trailed 38-8 as the Cardinals were able to connect on many shots early on shooting nearly 60-percent from the field and outrebounding the Rangers 52-percent to 18-percent in the first half. The Rangers came out in the second half looking to close the gap as they put up 33-points, outscoring the Cardinals by five. But the Cardinals continued to action, putting up 28-points allowing them to hold the lead throughout the second half.
The Rangers were led by junior guard 
Georgie Eishold who scored 10-points, and added six rebounds and one steal. 
Carolina Rahkonen, who was coming off a career-high 22 points, added nine points and 
Ali Bettencourt added eight for the Rangers.  The Cardinals were led by redshirt junior Kayla Harrell who scored 18 points and finished with nine rebounds and three assists.
   
The Rangers will return to action on Jan. 20 facing Rockhurst at home inside DeSimone with a tipoff time of 1:00 p.m.
