Box Score Sophomore Leki Prpa (Wind Lake, Wis.) scored a rebound goal in the 99^th minute on Friday afternoon, lifting the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory over nationally-ranked #19 Maryville University at Wood Road Field.

The scoreboard was clean at halftime after the teams battled scoreless for the first 45 minutes.

In the 61st minute, junior Vic Vera (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) tallied the contest's first goal, taking a pass from Prpa and beating the keeper to the far post. It was Vera's first marker of the young season, and gave the host Rangers a 1-0 lead.

The Saints found an equalizer in the 67th minute with a goal from Joergen Pettersen, who took a short cross in the box and found the net.

The Parkside defense stood strong over the final 20-plus minutes of regulation against pressure from Maryville. Senior Nate Kitchell (Green Bay, Wis.) tallied four of his five saves in the second half en route to victory in goal.

The pressure was solely applied by the Rangers in overtime, highlighted by the final flurry which led to the game-winner. Vera fired a shot which was saved, Prpa collected the rebound but was initially denied by Christian Kjaersgaard. The sophomore recovered and slipped a shot past the keeper for the game-winner.  

The game marked the fourth consecutive Rangers game decided by a single goal and handed the Saints their first defeat of the 2017 campaign.

Parkside returns to their home pitch on Sunday afternoon, hosting the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 2:30 p.m.
