Lawson's Career-High Lifts Rangers over Crimson Wave

SOMERS, Wis. – UW-Parkside women's basketball hit 13 3-pointers en route to a dominating 91-49 win over Calumet College of Saint Joseph on Tuesday afternoon at DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Rangers, who improved to 5-1 at home this season, came out hot offensively, but the Crimson Wave kept it close in the opening minutes until Parkside went on a 10-0 run to end the first quarter and take a 29-12 lead. Parkside hit six from beyond the arc in the opening quarter, including three trey's from Ali Bettencourt. In the second quarter, the Rangers pulled away from the Crimson Wave, winning the battle 23-8 to take a 52-20 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Rangers outscored Calumet College 39-29 and had 13 assists on 16 field goals.

Asiah Lawson led the way with a career-high 20 points and went 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. Bettencourt finished with 16 points and seven assists and hit three 3-pointers, all of which came in the first half. Hayley Maystead finished with her third double-double of the season, going for 14 points and 10 rebounds. Georgie Eishold went for 11 points and five rebounds and Lucija Bilic had seven points.

The Rangers are back in action on New Year's Eve, hosting Northwood at 1 p.m. inside DeSimone. The Rangers are currently in a stretch where seven of the eight games are at home.
