SOMERS, Wis. – After a strong first half, the UW-Parkside women's basketball team fell to Minnesota-Duluth 73-49 Saturday afternoon at DeSimone Gymnasium, dropping the Rangers to 1-6 overall this season while the Bulldogs moved to 1-0 in their first action of the year.

The Rangers went into the break trailing 42-35, but were outscored 31-14 in the second half. In the first half, the Rangers shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc as Carolina Rahkonen, Hayley Maystead, Georgia Eishold, Lucija Bilic and Asiah Lawson all went 1-for-1 in the half. The second half was a different story for Parkside, as the team seemingly couldn't get any shots to fall, shooting 11.6-percent for the quarter and going 1-for-21 from 3-point range.
Rahkonen was the lone Ranger in double figures, going for 13 points and eight rebounds while Maystead finished with eight points and five rebounds and Lawson added five points and seven rebounds.
Parkside will hit the road for a quick one-game trip at Ferris State during the week on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 p.m.
