SOMERS, Wis. -- The Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team will seek to carry forward momentum gained from its first Great Lakes Valley Conference victory of the season when it hosts Illinois Springfield on Friday (Sept. 30) at 12 p.m. at Wood Road Field.
The Rangers, who are 3-4-1 overall and 1-4-1 in conference play, garnered their first conference win of the season last Sunday when they downed Bellarmine 2-1. Wisconsin-Parkside got a goal from
Alberto Gonzalez in the 72nd minute and then held the Knights off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match.
Ryan Shogren also scored for the Rangers, which upped his team-leading total to three for the season. Antonio Gonazalez,
Abraham Kanneh and
Alberto Gonzalez each have scored two goals for the year.
Nate Kitchell got the win in net for the Rangers and improved to 2-0 on the season and lowered his goals against average to 1.00 for the year.
Remi Bibal has made six starts in goal and has posted a 1-4-1 overall record and a 2.25 goals against average.
Illinois Springfield enters the match with a 4-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
